We humans have got eyes and so we can view things around us and our brain which is synchronized with our eyes is able to recognize the visual perception and it is able to react accordingly with our locomotive systems. Similar to our eyes the computer can make use of cameras and various other optical sensing devices. But the computer cannot make any use of the image or input received from such optical sensors. So there came up a need to develop algorithms to enable the computer recognize things from any optical input. The Facial Recognition System is a program that can point out any human face in any given optical input. This program basically works on comparison of parts of the optical input with a database that consists of various human faces stored in it. Face Recognition Systems play an important role in security systems along with surveillance cameras. This can pop up the alarm systems as soon as it finds any intruder’s face in any of the installed surveillance cameras. This application is also used in the latest series of digital cameras that could recognize faces and automatically focus the camera’s lens towards the faces found.
